MEWP TRAINING
IPAF MEWP Operator Training Course is one of the longest-running and most reputable certifications. Aligned with ISO 18878, it is regularly updated to reflect industry trends, safety guidelines and incident data, maintaining global high standards. Certification is marked by the widely recognised IPAF PAL Card, now available digitally via the ePAL app for easy portability and verification.
The course includes both theory and practical assessments:
Theory: In-person at Shing Fung Training Centre or online virtual classes.Practical: Held at Shing Fung’s accredited centre or a pre-approved site, delivered by IPAF-certified instructors supervising equipment operation.

Participants can choose from the following type of lifting platform as needed:
• 1a: Static vertical type (involves outriggers; e.g., single-column lifting platform)
• 1b: Static boom type (involves outriggers; e.g., aerial work platform, spider lift)
• 3a: Moving vertical type (e.g., scissor lift)
• 3b: Mobile boom type (e.g., boom lift)
Courses are taught by professionals and IPAF-certified instructors.
Maximum ratio 12:1:1 (Trainee: Instructor: Lifting Platform)
Cantonese, Mandarin, or English.
1) In-person instruction or instruction at a designated location (full day)
08:00 – 12:30; 13:30 – 18:00 (including a one-hour lunch break)
Nine hours (including classroom teaching, safety equipment simulation, written test, and practical exam)
or
2) Online course (3 hours) (Theory course only) + On-site practical test (5 hours)
08:30 - 13:30 or 12:30 – 17:30
*A one-hour theoretical exam will be required on-site.

• Applicants must be physically able to attend this course;
• Applicants must be able to work at heights and use the equipment under appropriate conditions.
Upon completion of the entire course and passing the theoretical and practical examinations, participants will be awarded an IPAF internationally recognized certificate. (Valid for five years)
